GILERA RUNNER

What fascinates me about colour design applied to products, it's the ability to reframe the perception and feel of an object, without touching its design.

The purpose of this project was to research and identify 3 different target segments for Runner (a motor scooter from Gilera) and develop colour design concepts for each..

Initial visual research was conducted to understand market trends, not just on scooters and motorbikes but also on accessories, sports, street &urban fashion.

After identifying 3 potential directions, the scooter's parts were analysed to better understand applications, materials and mass production challenges.

TEETH CONCEPT
AGGRESSIVE / SPEED / RACE / MUSCULAR / SUBURBAN

This proposal stresses on the scooter's racing spirit (and the brand's racing heritage). The colour combination highlights the "arrow" shape, giving the scooter a sense of dynamic aggressiveness.

SHIELD CONCEPT
OUTSIDER / ARMOUR / PULSATING / WIND-TATOO / URBAN

This second concept plays with the metaphor of crustaceans: an "armour" protecting a "softer" core. The colour scheme underlines the structural aspect of the scooter, giving a tough, controlled but sensitive and energetic look.

VITRA CONCEPT
FASHION / COOL / LIGHT / ICE-WIND / URBAN

In this sophisticated metropolitan proposal, the delicate neutral palette complements the elegance and lightness of the pearlescent finish.
